The New York University College Democrats are the NYU campus affiliate of the College Democrats of America and the Democratic Party. We participate in campaigns for candidates that we have endorsed, join non-profits in community service activities, bring in speakers for discussions and lectures, and engage in the occasional political debate on campus.
The Officers on our Executive Board are:
President: Zachary B. Taylor
Zachary Taylor is a Senior in the College of Arts and Science studying Politics, History, and Urban Design & Architecture. Originally from California, he has been a member of the College Democrats since coming to NYU as a Freshman in Fall 2008 and has also volunteered with Organizing for America, and Students For Barack Obama. Zachary is excited to help the club prepare for the 2012 election and is also interested in social justice, campaign finance, education reform, immigration, and healthcare.
Vice President: Nicole Cunningham
Nicole Cunningham is a Junior studying English and American Literature in the College of Arts and Science. She is interested primarily in economic policy and international human rights. She’s excited to be a part of the College Democrats and hopes to make a difference in the NYU community and New York City as a whole.
Secretary: Victor Li
Victor Li is a Freshman studying Media, Culture and Communication in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
Treasurer: Thomas
Thomas is an upperclassman in the College of Arts and Science and is now in his second year as the Treasurer of College Democrats.

President Emeritus: Brittany Frye
Brittany Frye is a Junior double majoring in Politics and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. Originally from Santa Rosa, CA, she came to NYU after volunteering extensively with Students for Barack Obama in high school. Since joining College Democrats as a Freshman, Brittany has become increasingly involved, first serving as the club’s Events Chair. She is deeply interested in foreign policy and international human rights. This year, she’s excited to reach out to NYU’s College Republicans in hopes of showing Congress that people from different parties can get along and have fruitful discussions. In addition, the club will also begin building the framework needed to reelect President Obama in 2012.
Prachi Vidwans
Prachi Vidwans is a Junior is CAS studying Anthropology, with English and Creative Writing minors. She loves politics, and is especially interested in domestic policy on education reform and immigration law.
Sara Alwan
Sara Alwan is a Junior in CAS studying International Relations, French, and Social & Public Policy. She’s interested in issues of social justice, particularly as it relates to public education policy. Sara feels strongly about the importance of civic engagement and loves the College Democrats for bringing people together to learn from each other and to make a positive impact on our community.
Ashley Wytenus
Ashley Wytenus is a Junior studying Politics and Economics in the College of Arts and Science.
